  Died in London of Hepatitis (A and C) contracted on one of his many trips to India. Brian had spent several years in Tibet and had translated the Bible into Tibetan, as well as translating many works from Sanskrit into English. He was the personal photographer for the Dalai Lama. He became a Buddhist, and the Dalai Lama sent him a personal blessing for a peaceful crossing into the next life when he heard he was very ill.
